By the 1770s, Britain was transporting 45,000 Africans into slavery every year. David Olusoga visits Bunce Island, where captured Africans were sold, to continue his epic series about the empire’s legacy. The fallout of the American revolution then takes him to Australia – which, of course, had already been home to natives for at least 40,000 years, including the Tasmanian Truganini.
